I am currently working with Navy Fed on the purchase of a home. I’ve bought a couple of homes and I’m in the mortgage industry so I know what the process should look like and what steps need to be taken. I am beyond disappointed with our experience. The communication is awful; our loan officer rarely responds to our emails or returns our calls. When we do finally get a response it’s typically inaccurate or very brief. We have to reach out to him multiple times to get the information we need. We’ve missed deadlines because of his lack of communication. We’ve had to ask for updated pre-approval letters multiple times. The responsiveness during the pre-approval stage was drastically different than what we’re experiencing now. We’re just getting a pre-approval update letter and getting a va form from the loan officer has taken 3 weeks when it should take less than a day. He continually tells us what he’s “working on” but it never seems to get done. We’ve had to beg for simple things like his employment history; he didn’t even include his base pay on it. We hope we can find someone in leadership to discuss the many issues. We’re considering postponing the purchase of our new home until we can find a different lender. If we don’t hear back soon I will be reaching out to senior leadership. We are very unhappy with our overall experience.
