Just wanted to share my experience here. Our 5 year old boy started to see Caroline a few months back and he has improved a great deal. The tag team approach suggested by Caroline is ideal, where my wife and I practice the techniques and strategies at home with M and pass on our observations and minor progress to Caroline during scheduled visits every few weeks. In each visit, we learn new strategies and tactics that go along with M's current stage, and that has made a significant difference for M. Not only does M feel encouraged, but he understands there is significant support from Caroline and us, in his speech journey. Caroline is very attentive, and her engaging activities with M help a lot in having M cooperate during each session. We are extremely grateful to Caroline for her passion in her field and her dedication to helping M overcome his language delay concerns.
I was an adult who suffered from the inability to pronounce the letter "R". I decided to consult Caroline and within a few sessions of simple coaching by her, I could have pronounced the letter in words and sentences! Caroline was very patient and helpful, and I am so grateful for her professional guidance and expertise. I would highly recommend Caroline for anyone struggling with their speech.
My wife and I first saw Caroline when our son (M) was 3 years old and was not talking. Our paediatrician flagged an alert when M was around 2.5 years old and yet to talk. We saw a couple of experts including a developmental paediatrician independently to get another angle on M's situation - he had no other health issues by the way. Both experts recommended speech therapy so we looked around and found Caroline. The first session with Caroline was a consultation session where she reviewed M's case and asked questions. Caroline was gentle with M and tried to connect with M with toys (none of the other experts tried the play toy approach). In the crucial first few sessions, M was rather tense (due to a mix of speech anxiety, strangeness of a new environment and sessions of assessments followed by Caroline's test sessions where instead of play sessions, she asks M to speak) and would often dread going there. Despite it all, Caroline was patient, observant and professional. On her own, she noticed that M loves to fiddle the sand in her sand tray while doing his exercises - and not long after, she brings it to every single session. She observes M's liking to activities (music, play) and uses them as motivational tools as well. After about 6 months, M started to talk and now after a year plus with Caroline, he's blurting out 5-6 words to express himself, he could read from small flash cards and is a lot more wind down in sessions. From the start till now, Caroline's always revising and improvising her approach and treatment sessions, using motivating techniques and vibrant activities - never a dull moment (she makes it a point to switch from one activity to another, in order to sustain M's interest and attention). We appreciate all the work Caroline put in and highly recommend her.
