Nice place to connect with nature just beware of monkeys and mozzies. Make sure to come prepared, and the bicycle ride is a mixture of elevations. I had to push my bike at some point as I took the city bike. My husband took the mountain bike and had no issues. Overall, it was a great experience.
This is a Nature Reserve and it opens daily, except Public Holiday, from 9am~5pm. No bicycle is allowed inside this place. All bicycles have to park outside the gate before the visitors are allowed to walk into the place. It has a bridge that connects mainland Pulau Ubin to Pulau Sekudu island. The Wetland Centre facilitates tours for small groups. The guided tour is about 1.1km long and it is not recommended for people with weak knees.
Far from the madding crowds is Paradise. That’s how I will describe the Chek Jawa Wetlands. Getting there is a quite an effort: Changi Ferry Centre - Ferry - Pulau Ubin and then the 4 kms trek to the Wetlands. But it is worth it. The Wetlands are beautiful and peaceful, with diverse flora and fauna. I would recommend going in the early morning to avoid the heat and the crowds.
