Far from the madding crowds is Paradise ????????. That’s how I will describe the Chek Jawa Wetlands. Getting there is a quite an effort: Changi Ferry Centre - Ferry - Pulau Ubin and then the 4 kms trek to thy Wetlands …

This is a Nature Reserve and it opens daily, except Public Holiday, from 9am~5pm. No bicycle is allowed inside this place. All bicycles have to park outside the gate before the visitors are allowed to walk into the place. It has a bridge that connects mainland Pulau Ubin to Pulau Sekudu island. The Wetland Centre facilitates tours for small groups. The guided tour is about 1.1km long and it is not recommended for people with weak knees.

I had a fantastic time visiting the Chek Jawa Wetlands Nature preserve. The nature reserve is well-maintained and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The guided tour provided interesting information about the flora and fauna of the wetlands. The only downside was the presence of monkeys, who can be quite mischievous.
